Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-orientedElectrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This role isfocused on the design and development of rugged, high-performanceelectronics used in mission-critical defense applications with astrong emphasis on PCB layout and design. Experience or interest inRF circuit and antenna design is a significant plus. The idealcandidate will bring a deep understanding of electronics design,with the ability to contribute across the full product developmentlifecycle—from concept and prototyping through production andsustainment.

Clearance:

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required forthis position. Applicants selected will be subject to a securityinvestigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements foraccess to classified information. US Citizenship is required toobtain a clearance.

Requirements:

3 years of experience inmicroelectronics design and development, with a strong emphasis onPCB layout and design. Proficiency in tools such as AltiumDesigner, Eagle, OrCAD, or similar. Solid foundation inanalog/digital circuit theory and practical design. Familiaritywith lab testing tools (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs,etc.). Understanding of

DFM/DFT/DFA

best practices in a defensecontext. Strong organizational and communication skills, with anattention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Design, analyze, andvalidate analog, digital, and RF circuitry for embedded systems.

Lead PCB layout and design for high-reliability, multi-layerboards, ensuring compliance with military standards (MIL-STD) andIPC class specifications. Integrate a wide range of sensors (IMUs,GPS, environmental, etc.) and communication modules (LTE, UHF,SATCOM, etc.) into embedded and modular systems. Develop andintegrate RF front-ends and antennas for secure communications andsensor applications. Perform schematic capture, BOM generation,layout, and detailed documentation for design reviews andproduction. Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, systems,and test engineers to deliver ruggedized and SWaP-optimizedsolutions. Conduct signal integrity analysis, power distributionverification, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) assessments.

Support environmental and compliance testing including EMI/EMC,shock, vibration, and thermal. Maintain design documentation andcontribute to configuration management and version control.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience with RF circuit design,including filters, LNAs, mixers, and impedance-matched networks.

Knowledge of antenna design and integration for applicationsincluding GNSS, SATCOM, cellular, telemetry, etc. Experiencedesigning low power and ultra low power embedded devices Hands-onexperience with RF simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, or KeysightADS. Familiarity with military standards (MIL-STD) related tomicroelectronics Background in embedded systems, microcontrollers,and interface protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet). Experience inend-to-end lifecycle development for defense platforms.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field(Master’s preferred)

Compensation:

Compensation at SimVentions isdetermined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to,the candidate’s experience, education, training, securityclearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, aswell as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contractspecific requirements. The projected annual compensation range forthis position is $85K – $155K (USD). This estimate reflects thestandard salary range for this position and is just one componentof the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
