Automation and Controls Engineer

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

This position is on-site at our North Charleston, South Carolina, location.
We are seeking a dynamic and confident Automation & Controls Engineer to develop and implement automated engineering solutions for plant operations, quality, processing, and logistics teams. The Automation & Controls Engineer will collaborate across departments to drive continuous improvement. This position will practice strong project management and independent decision making, both technical and financial, on projects, which are required for the safe, efficient operation of our plant. This individual also makes decisions that affect the reliability and efficiency of plant equipment and processes that impact production efficiencies, customer service, and product quality.

Essential Duties Include:

Provide PLC & Automation Controls engineering for the plant. (Allen Bradley)
Create electrical drawings for plant projects.
Ensure success – utilize a cross-functional team approach, ensuring lines of communication to all affected parties are open and dialogue is free flowing.
Provide complete troubleshooting and support for PLC issues at the plant.
An integral part of the engineering team.
Provide general engineering support and IT support, as needed, to support day-to-day business needs.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental standards, participating in incident investigations and corrective actions.
Other duties as assigned.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering or related discipline required
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment required
Minimum 2 years of project management experience required
