Controls Engineer Job Description Actalent is seeking a dedicated Controls Engineer near Nashville, TN. This role involves designing and developing automation control systems tailored to client specifications, with opportunities for travel and collaboration. Responsibilities + Travel up to 25% to various customer sites. + Design automation control systems based on customer specifications. + Develop detailed electrical drawings. + Program automation and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and vision systems. + Design and debug Data Acquisition systems (SCADA). + Troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s or Technical degree or certificate in a controls-related field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. + Ability to read, revise, and create new logic for PLCs, HMI/SCADA programs, and VFD parameters. + Proficiency in programming
HMI/SCADA
systems like Factory Talk, Ignition, and Cimplicity. + Capability to program from scratch using Rockwell and Siemens technologies. + 3-5 years of experience in electrical design and controls engineering. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with conveyor systems. + Familiarity with ladder logic. + Experience in Food/Beverage, Chemical, Wastewater industries, or Automotive.
