Job Description

Engineer Job Description We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer to troubleshoot equipment in the plant, including PLC equipment, create standards, and pull data. This role involves problem-solving floor issues and developing corrective actions to increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve quality. The primary responsibility is to support future automation and technology improvements to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and cost efficiency. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will support the Engineering Department’s objectives to improve quality, OEE, and cost. Responsibilities + Parts Transportation Automation + Part Traceability + PLC Program Updates + Part Quality Investigation and Improvements + OEE Improvements + Casting process analysis Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering + Ability to read drawings + GD&T knowledge and familiarity + Statistical analysis of process data + Engineering experience in a fast-paced production environment + Troubleshooting complex problems to identify root cause + Hands-on capability in investigating problems and developing countermeasures + Experience working in a team environment + Highly motivated and self-driven + Flexible work schedule to cover weekend and non-production projects + Experience with hands-on complex troubleshooting Additional Skills & Qualifications + Toyopuc PLC Programming + Fanuc Robotics programming experience + High pressure die casting experience + Six Sigma or TBP completion + Installing/programming traceability systems (cameras, RFID systems, etc.) + Python or other programming languages + SQL database knowledge Work Environment The engineer will spend the majority of their time on the floor investigating problems, at least 40% of the time. The investigation and results need to be documented, requiring desk time. The plant features a lot of visualization – each department has a small ‘studio’ with poster boards, graphs, charts, etc., documenting their findings and actions. The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, offering a great work/life balance with PTO and an excellent training program. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 – $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
