Job Summary
Provide engineering support to the plant for all Computer Information Systems (DCS, PLC, etc. and instrumentation and electrical systems) to assure they are designed, installed, maintained, and modified within established safety, compliance, and performance standards. Provide capital and manufacturing cost accounting and analysis as appropriate within areas of competence. This position is responsible for cost controls, budgets, forecasts, and project work managed by the facility. 10% travel possible. Position will support solely Memphis site.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities with %

Breakdown:

Technical (70%): Responsible for maintaining site process controls software/hardware (BMS, DCS/PLC, Field instrumentation).
Design, develop, and implement control loops (primarily DeltaV).
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Act as site liaison with corporate for IT hardware systems, including control systems, servers, historians, etc.
Serve as Site Champion for cybersecurity compliance.
Provide technical expertise and coordinate resources for E&I, Maintenance, HES, Quality, and other departments.
Maintain software and design-basis documentation for E&I systems.
Maintain compliance with process safety responsibilities, including Management of Change (MOC), Safety Critical Systems (SCS), Alarm Management, etc.
Troubleshoot and resolve control system/instrumentation issues, including off-hours support.
Participate in continuous improvement programs, such as Arkema’s SMART program.
Collaborate with engineers, operators, and technicians to optimize plant operations and improve efficiency. Management (30%): Plan, budget, schedule, and report on projects
Lead projects to replace, upgrade or expand equipment
Provide technical training to teams when required and serve as a technical mentor to team members
Interact with on/off plant E&I related technical, construction, and/or maintenance resources to share best practices Provide technical expertise to site resources, including instrument/electrical/controls technicians.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Required
Min Years of Experience Minimum 3 years of related industrial experience.
Minimum 1 year of direct experience with a focus on complex technical and business matters related to automation engineering.
Must be knowledgeable in all applicable process technology, equipment and control systems. Education and area of focus BS degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering degree.

Certifications/Trainings:

Six Sigma Greenbelt / LEAN certification (and implementation experience) preferred. Competencies – Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs) Experience with control systems
Proficient in handling the most complex of technical development concepts, latest software tools and technologies, strong database concepts and designing techniques.
Understands different programming languages and ability to solve problems in coding, testing and deployment.
Possesses good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures and various compatibility requirements.
Experience in troubleshooting, software development processes and ability to understand and implement client requirements.
Understand project requirements, coordinate with resources and direct the projects in the right direction in a timely manner
Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients
Ability to manage change and effectively pass on the information down the line to concerned teams for smoother execution
Effectively lead and direct teams and inspire others to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence
Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of team members and suitably make changes if required
Ability to match project tasks with opportunities for development so that employee potential is utilized to the maximum

Position is based in manufacturing facility with all inherent risks. Will work with operators, managers and site champions to accomplish goals. The ability to easily move through a chemical process requiring the use of stairs, ladders, and personal protective equipment is a pre-requisite.
