The Electrical Engineer role is to provide technical expertise and leadership in the design, troubleshooting, and installation of complex industrial finishing, dispensing, general automation systems. Responsible for the design of the electrical drawing package, component specification, software programming, training, and professional development within the team.

Principal Job Duties:

Design, develop, and provide all electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.
Apply applicable codes to the design of industrial electrical circuits such as, but not limited to NEC, CSA, and NFPA.
Manage all electrical and control aspects of assigned engineering projects, and work closely with the other functions of the engineering group such as Operations, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, etc.
Work within a team of electrical/controls and mechanical engineers in the design and commissioning of multiple projects with strict and overlapping schedules.
Interpret customer specifications and scopes of work and apply them to the electrical / controls design under governing industrial electrical codes.
Specify all electrical / control components required to meet the customer’s desired application.
Assist in the design and develop software programming, including PLC, HMI, Servo Control, etc. Write PLC code from scratch
Develop HMI’s from scratch.
Program a broad range of control components such as servo drives, measuring light curtains, safety scanners, vision cameras, as well as various other programmable control components. Assist in the integrate Robotic Systems, with a focus on Finishing & Dispensing applications. Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, Kuka (Fanuc experience is preferred)
Path Programming / Sequence Programming/Robot I/O programming
Robot Communications / PLC Safety Interlocks Conduct I/O checks on systems at customer facilities, and subsequent startup, and commissioning of industrial finishing and dispensing systems.
Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
Desire and ability to learn new control technology.
Work closely with the engineering sales team to develop accurate project bids with a focus on the electrical and controls componentry.
Provide guidance and oversight during project design, installation and start up.
Provide training and guidance for Associate Controls Engineers and Project Leaders.
Participate in final design reviews.
Adhere to quality and design standards from conception through completion, ensuring a quality product or service.

Requirements:

A technical college degree, plus a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the industrial automation environment or other combined relevant experience
Experience in machine vision is required
Rockwell Software experience is preferred
Robot Programming experience is preferred
Safety Systems Programming experience is preferred
Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, dependent on the project schedule
Possess the ability to lead, teach and/or mentor colleagues in specific area of product expertise
Proven automation industry knowledge and product category differentiation
Proven experience of primary product category overlap and understand impact to product crossover in system solutions
Up to date on industry trends, direction, advancements, and/or regulations
Proven technical and/or mechanical aptitude
Proven experience in utilizing skills to solve customer problems and assist sales staff
Powerful sense of urgency and accountability
Proven customer relationship building skills
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Ability to understand written and oral English and be proficient with computer, email, spreadsheets and look up documents online

Valid Driver’s License
Aptitude to read parts manuals, vendor catalogs, understand blueprints, and communicate technical information effectively
