Job Description

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related specialized area is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Responsibilities for this Position General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Field Support Specialist supporting the Nosis and STRMS Programs. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS

Installs and repairs equipment; instructs customers in equipment operation; provides technical assistance; checks equipment for malfunctions. Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives. Acts as local on-site representative to customer’s organization.

Advanced Security Clearance, minimum Secret required.

Assists management reviewing maintenance contracts and complex system configurations and prepares the field support section of certified proposals Conducts site and equipment inspections in order to perform preventative and corrective maintenanceConducts technical seminars and training for customer or company personnel, informal on the job training for other field service staff members and customers, and over-the shoulder/refresher training to users in the field as requiredCoordinates installation of large aperture antennas, radars and towers with Field Service Supervisors and Engineering at multiple sites Develops plans and procedures of installation of large steel structuresDiagnoses and repairs mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and submits reports on system reliability metrics to technical/regional support centersDocuments failures and corrective action in accordance with proper procedures, and makes technical recommendations based on this collective data

External:

Customers, Military Personnel, Government Dignitaries, External Consultants/ExpertsImplements test plans and procedures in accordance with contract requirements for the verification of deliverable system

Other Functional Technical Teams, Technical StaffLeads Field Support input on small proposal effortsMay be required to be fielded nationallyMay be required to deploy and operate with US Forces in CONUS and OCONUS field locations, to include combat zones Travel may be required to world-wide non-field locationsPerform complex technical evaluation and resolve critical technical problems on fielded systemsPerforms field activities associated with installing, maintaining, integrating, troubleshooting, testing and servicing of multiple fielded systems/products at customer sitesRecommends design enhancements to internal management and engineeringRepresents the company at program and customer reviewsSecurity Clearance may be requiredServes as the subject matter expert working with the tactical customer to accomplish initial installation, configuration and reconfiguration of all equipment as the communications environment evolvesSpecific OSHA training such as, 30 hours construction training, may be required as determined by managementSupports Field Support input on large proposal effortsTravel may be required to world-wide non-field locationsWorks with customer leadership on the planning and implementation of system customization to meeting specific mission requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Administration, Information Systems, etc., or equivalent combination of education and experience Linux, ORACLE, VMware, Hyper-V, MSSQL, Windows Server 2008 or higher CompTIA Security + Certification Linux + Certification or equivalent training and experience Experience with VBScript, JavaScript, Windows Scripting, WBEM, .

NET, JBOSS

a plus Experience with CANES or PPLAN System Administration or Operating Environments Use, administration, and maintenance of Nosis and/or STRMS Software Suites Salary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled. Combined Salary Range USD $74,050.00 – USD $80,125.00 /Yr.
