Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Responsible/Analysis Engineer OR Principal Responsible/Analysis Engineer – Fluid Systems with experience in aircraft fluid subsystems development to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. This position is fully onsite with no remote work available.
Key responsibilities may include:
Performing responsible engineer activities, which include all aspects of fluid system/component design and development including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, and troubleshooting. These activities may also include participating on a subcontractor management team and will act as the technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification, and procurement.
Performing system related analysis, such as performance simulation, in support of the development of the fluid subsystem including integration with other aircraft subsystems.
System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting.
System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met.
Attending internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
This role may be filled as an Engineer (level 2) or Principal Engineer (level 3) based on the qualifications outlined below.
Basic Qualifications:
Responsible/Analysis Engineer – Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline AND 2 years of engineering experience, OR Master’s degree in STEM
Principal Responsible/Analysis Engineer – Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline AND 5 years of engineering experience, OR Master’s degree in
STEM AND 3
years of engineering experience
Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Must have professional experience related to the development and integration of fluid subsystems or components.
Must have experience with system performance analysis using Amesim or similar software tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with focus on thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer disciplines
Experience with aircraft subsystem development, with requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and verification for advance aircraft.
Experience performing thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer analysis related to military/commercial aircraft and subsystems
Experience modeling fluid systems utilizing Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink, Thermal Desktop, Flomaster, and/or STAR-CCM+ software
Experience with the military airworthiness certification process using
MIL-HDBK-516
Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
Experience in supporting pursuits and proposals, including generating, reviewing, and approving technical proposals and BOEs
Demonstrated experience in leadership related to integrated product teams, including supplier and customer (internal and external) relations
Salary Range:
$77,200.00 – $115,800.00Salary Range 2: $95,300.00 – $142,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
