Job Description

PeerSource Oncology is currently recruiting for multiple Linac Field Engineers on a Direct Hire basis. This role can be based out of any of the following locations: College Station TX, Raleigh NC, North Orlando FL, or Houston TX. Summary We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to support, maintain, and troubleshoot linear accelerators (Linacs) and related radiation therapy systems. You will provide high quality, onsite support to a variety of hospitals and cancer centers in the metro area. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators (mainly Varian with some Elekta), Hexapod robotic couches, on-board imaging systems (CBCT, kV/MV), and Patient positioning / QA systems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to OEM and regulatory standards. Collaborate with clinical staff (physicists, dosimetrists, therapists) to minimize downtime and optimize system performance. Maintain service documentation and compliance logs for FDA, NRC, and Joint Commission. Manage part orders, troubleshooting tickets, and escalate complex issues as needed. Travel to client sites within assigned territory for scheduled and on-demand service. Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service coverage. Required Skills 1-2+ years of experience servicing Varian (ideal, or Elekta) linear accelerators in radiation therapy environments. Strong familiarity with high-voltage systems, RF components, motion control, and/or robotics. Strong mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting skills. Excellent documentation, communication, and customer-facing service mindset. Comfortable working in compliance-heavy environments (HIPAA, FDA, NRC). Willingness to travel to client sites in and around the local metro area. Minimal out of state travel may be required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience Prior military-trained electronics background is preferred.
