Job Purpose As a Technical Expert in the CAE Methods Department, you will beresponsible to lead a team and judge an entire technical area forCFD method and process creation related to areas such as vehicleaerodynamics, thermal management, and water management. Proficientuse and understanding of CAE methods contributes to improvedoptimization, speed, and efficiency of our products and developmentprocesses. Key Accountabilities Direct and judge the technical output for a team that isdeveloping and validating new CFD methods for both specificationsetting and product verification. Responsible to develop, promote, and evaluate metrics forquality of modeling and analysis. Lead, the establishment of a plan for the technical directionof CFD methods development that is aligned with the division andcompany direction. Communicate the plan to subordinates andmanagement to ensure alignment. Collaborate with senior principal test and senior principaldesign engineers to ensure CFD models are achievingefficiency/effectiveness targets. Collaborate with Virtual Performance Engineering principalengineers to ensure the CFD methods are meeting the requirementsfor application to development projects. Create documentation for the registration of CFD Models as averified tool for specification setting and productverification. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degreepreferred. BS and 10+ years engineering experience minimum Expertise with CFD software such as Fluent, OpenFoam, xFlow,PowerFlow, but preferably StarCCM+. Also expertise with programminglanguage software such as Matlab, Python, and Excel VBA Expertise with creation of new CFD Methods and performingverification and validation Ability to present complex concepts as simplesummaries Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Working Conditions Work is primarily conducted at an office desk.
