Position Opening:
Civil Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects
We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Renewable Energy Services team. This role involves contributing to the civil and site design aspects of solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and other renewable energy developments. The position is available as a hybrid opportunity in any of our office locations.
The ideal candidate will bring in-depth experience in the planning, design, and execution of civil and renewable energy infrastructure projects. This includes knowledge in site planning, grading, stormwater management, and hydraulic analysis. Familiarity with State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR), stormwater permitting under the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), and relevant code compliance is strongly preferred. (This is a hybrid role, onsite 3 days per week)
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate project feasibility.
Support the development of initial site layout concepts.
Create detailed designs for solar energy systems, including site plans, structural documentation, and related engineering analyses.
Prepare site plans and construction documentation required for permitting and implementation.
Assist in submitting and managing permit applications.
Coordinate effectively with clients, engineers, contractors, and internal team members.
Deliver high-quality design solutions that meet the project’s goals regarding scope, schedule, cost, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience.
EIT certification or PE license is a plus.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork. ( THIS
