The Birmingham Branch Manager will provide leadership while executing technical and administrative responsibilities for a small engineering consulting office such as day to day operations, P/L management, people management, and client relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Projects a positive image of the Company and colleagues at client negotiations, conferences, technical meetings, and within the office Signs letters, proposals, and reports bearing professional stamp (if applicable) and assumes responsibility in the name of the Company Responsible for work assigned to the Branch regarding professional liability and contractual obligations. All technical work must be conducted so that the standard of care is met Provides guidance, training, and instruction to subordinates in regulatory, technical, and administrative aspects of environmental, geotechnical, or construction materials testing consulting Responsible for project financials, proposals, and resource allocation/utilization Leads people management, career development, and overall office culture in accordance with UES vision. Directs the execution of business development efforts, Pursue new business opportunities through networking, proposals, and client relationships. Plans Branch strategy in conjunction with Group Managers to meet Company goals Manage branch budgets, forecasts, hiring, and staff development.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree required. 8+ years of experience in consulting engineering roles involving Geotechnical or CMT projects Professional Engineering License required or can be obtained within 6 months

Preferred Experience:

Must have thorough knowledge and experience in geotechnical engineering or Materials Testing services consulting business Consulting Engineering business acumen including P/L responsibilities Active membership in professional and civic organizations
