Position Overview:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel’s physical structure, equipment, and operating systems. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and high-quality environment while supporting guest satisfaction and hotel profitability.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or Associate’s Degree preferred. 3+ years of supervisory maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality. Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and building systems. Hands-on experience with maintenance tools and troubleshooting complex systems. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead a team, manage projects, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Professional appearance and strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise, train, and schedule the engineering team. Oversee daily maintenance operations and preventive maintenance programs. Manage vendor contracts, service agreements, and capital projects. Ensure regulatory compliance with safety, health, and brand standards. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest concerns. Monitor departmental budgets and control operating costs. Maintain accurate records of equipment, repairs, and inspections. Support emergency procedures, including fire and life safety systems. Perform inspections and lead energy conservation initiatives.

Work Environment:

Work performed indoors and outdoors; exposure to varying weather conditions. Must be able to climb ladders, access roofs, and work in confined spaces. Physical role involving standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift.
