The Supervisory Projects Engineer ensures safe, reliable, and a precisely controlled opering environment for direct pient care through management of a design and construction program to build and renove hospital and support environments. Supervisory Project Engineers serve as experts in the design of the medical care environment, including all hospital building feures, automed building management and environmental control systems, and critical utility systems, as well as the oversight of reled construction including construction in and adjacent to operional healthcare environments. Supervisory Projects Engineers collabore directly with the Chief of Engineering Service, executive leadership, medical staff, nursing staff, and other clinical personnel regarding the design of the environment for medical care. They manage construction projects. They ensure th all hospital design and construction projects comply with a multitude of accredition and regulory requirements including, but not limited to, those promulged by the Joint Commission (TJC), the Occupional Safety and Health Administrion (OSHA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In summary, Supervisory Project Engineers apply engineering concepts and methodologies to enhance the delivery of healthcare by providing a technologically advanced, safe, and reliable healthcare environment through design and construction. This position serves as a supervisor within Engineering Service with responsibility for the Projects Section a multi-faceted and affilied VA Medical Center, including outlying Community Based Outpient Clinics. Major Duties include but is not limited to: The Supervisory Projects Engineer is a key engineering advisor reporting directly to the Chief of Engineering Service. The Supervisory Projects Engineer is a responsible leader and a member of the Engineering management team and is relied on for authoritive advice on all aspects of design and construction mters. This position provides mrix management support and technical expert consultion to the Chief of Engineering Service for all issues relive to the areas listed above. The Supervisory Projects Engineer makes recommendions to the Chief of Engineering for final approval and has responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the Medical Center Design and Construction program and oversight. The Supervisory Projects Engineer collabores with operions and program managers to ensure integred goals and priorities for all projects are met. The Supervisory Projects Engineer also works closely with peers in other service lines to meet their project needs as internal customers and the needs of external customers as well. This position is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, evaluing, and management processes for the Engineering Service Project Section th includes setting qualitive and quantitive standards.

Preferred Experience:
