This position reports to Vice President & General Manager and will work in Huntsville, AL. About the position As the Director of Engineering of the Huntsville team, you will oversee, mentor, and develop Electrical and Electromechanical Designers while focusing on product development. You will work closely with the VP/GM and Product Management teams in planning program resources, budgets, and schedules. You will also be responsible for monitoring progress and resources to ensure programs are within budget, schedule, performance specifications, and safety criteria.

Marine AC / DC charging systems, Lithium-ion battery integration, digital switching, connectivity, and mobile power solutions for inboard and outboard leisure crafts. Your Main Responsibilities Guide design and test engineering, working closely with product management, sourcing, quality, operations, and customers during new product launches and continuous product improvements Mentor team members by recognizing talents, matching talents and tasks, accommodating people growth, etc. Plan, coordinate resources, monitor status, maintain program commitments, report on progress, ensure delivery and quality applications on time and budget Provide daily support for issues as well as review and evaluate design solutions to meet cost and functional targets Review and provide technical direction for product solutions to meet design requirements Advocate best practices and look for continuous improvement opportunities Hold design reviews to evaluate new design concepts, product design, specifications, verifications, validations, and documentation in accordance with Dometic’s standards Review and approve design validation plan for new products/designs Design products, assemblies, and components which meet design requirements Identify market opportunities, research solutions, develop IPs Promote group discussions, collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement for team and individuals Conduct performance evaluations (PMP) and recommend personal development for the team members Innovate customer centric engineering solutions and assist in applications support and troubleshooting as required Perform other duties and undertake special projects as assigned by supervisor What do we offer?
