Full Job Description Overview:
Astrion’s Civil Space Engineering Operating Unit is seeking an Executive Director to serve as an advanced level program operations and project integration specialist in an operating unit executive leadership role with a dual focus of 1) providing project / program management for a portfolio of contracts, 2) providing Operating Unit level integration and operations support across the full suite of contracts and initiatives supported by the operating unit. The successful candidate is expected to serve in both a project / program management role in support of current customers and will serve in a business unit leadership role with a focus on managing and expanding existing and prospective highly specialized technical services, primarily focused in support of NASA and Commercial Space customers. The ideal candidate will a) have in depth related experience effectively managing NASA projects and programs, b) exhibit advanced “solutions architect” capabilities supporting achievement of business unit strategy and growth goals, c) be passionate about human spaceflight and space science and related technologies and innovations, and d) possess exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
Qualifications:
Required:
BS Degree in business, engineering or related technical field. Minimum of 20 years’ experience in the project / program management and execution of NASA contracts Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with NASA MSFC and/or JSC customers. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, customer relations, and presentation skills Self-motivated, effective team player with ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplined dynamic team environment
Desired:
MS or MBA degree in technical or business management discipline. PMP certification Experience supporting NASA / Industry partnerships related to space science or technology Leadership experience with diverse and geographically dispersed teams
Location:
This position will be located in Huntsville Alabama with occassional travel.
