Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to be located in Huntsville, AL and to serve a leadership role on the Payloads Team of the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program. This is a dual-role manager position, involving balancing both the overall functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group of engineers while maintaining technical baseline performance on program work. The candidate will spend ~20% of their time on functional/organizational support and ~80% of their time on systems engineering technical program work. Functional management involves, but is not limited to, organizational administrative activities and helping employees’ performance and career development through performance reviews, guidance, and training. The direct program responsibilities will be dependent upon programmatic technical work.

What You Will Get To Do:

Provide proposal inputs, Basis Of Estimates (BOEs), and review proposal content for both internal and external customers Provide project and technical leadership for the MBSE team, including: Technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems Requirement Allocation & decomposition Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and help prepare test plans and procedures Requirements Verification Perform Verification Planning in MBSE tools. Create and maintain a Requirements Verification Architecture Model (RVAM) in Cameo EA Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis

Architecture:

Create and maintain SysML and UPDM models in Cameo EA; interface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers and specialty engineers to capture Payload Systems Sentinel structure and behavior using accurate UPDM/SysML representations according to OMG standards. Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements Support team members in interfacing with subcontractors regarding subcontractor requirements, architecture, interface, and verifications development Review contractor SDRLs. Create CDRL content from contractor SDRLs when needed Interface with other IPTs to develop interface requirements and ConOps Interface with USAF customer

$149,400.00 – $224,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
