The position is located in Melbourne, Florida. This position is a temporary position for up to three years. The position will be funded via a NASA University Leadership Initiative (ULI) to manage a research program, TRANSCEND (Trustworthy Resilient Autonomous Agents for Safe City transportation in the Evolving New Decade).
TRANSCEND
is a 3-year research effort to develop a framework and tools to ensure the trustworthiness of learning-enabled increasingly autonomous systems. We are currently seeking an experienced Program Manager with proven ability to manage technical and administrative aspects of a research and development program. Applicants should be highly organized, have strong abilities to coordinate, delegate, optimize productivity, and nurture program success from inception to completion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with project sponsor, Office of Sponsored Programs, and cross-functional teams to manage project scope, work plan, deliverables, budget, and program reviews Manage project teams and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives Oversee the budget for projects and associated contract requirements and deliverables Work with performers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple performers within the program to analyze, evaluate, and overcome risks Integrate technical input from performers and produce program reports for managers and stakeholders Manage technical advisory board and associated technical reports and meetings Collaborate with industry liaison to manage stakeholders and coordinate stakeholder interactions, and deliverables Plan and coordinate annual meetings with project team, program management, stakeholders, and advisory board Manage technical documentation, including shared documents and templates on the Share Drive Support planning and coordination of educational outreach events
Required Qualifications:
Five or more years of experience in an upper-management role, preferably in program management Exceptional skills in leadership, time management, facilitation, and organization Experience in managing stakeholders Broad knowledge of project management methodologies Ability to work with a wide range of individuals Strong knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business administration or related field
