We’re seeking a Founding Head of Engineering / VP of Engineering who can architect and scale a modern platform from the ground up, build a high-performing in-house engineering team, and thrive in a fast-paced, execution-driven startup environment. • Hire, mentor, and manage a world-class engineering team across front-end, back-end, and platform disciplines. Architect the Platform
• Own the technical vision for a multi-product ecommerce platform embedded with AI and built for scale. Code When It Counts
• Lead by example with clean, scalable code in React and Node.js. Step in when needed to unblock or model standards. Transition the Stack
• Oversee the shift from an offshore, agency-led team to a fully onshore, in-house engineering operation. Drive Excellence
• Establish best practices in testing, code reviews, CI/CD, observability, and performance optimization. Work Cross-Functionally
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Executive teams to align engineering work with business goals. Innovate at Speed
• Bring fresh ideas to accelerate platform capabilities, merchant experience, and overall growth.

What We’re Looking For 12+ years of engineering experience with 4+ years in leadership roles. Proven success building and scaling teams in startup or fast-growth environments. Strong preference for ecommerce platform experience (Shopify ecosystem, merchant tools, payments, etc.). Deep full-stack expertise with Node.js (backend) and React (frontend) . Skilled in RDBMS and NoSQL (MySQL, MongoDB, etc.). You still enjoy coding and mentoring-this is not a hands-off role. Demonstrated ability to drive projects forward in lean, high-output environments. Experience managing or transitioning offshore teams. Strong communicator with the ability to rally both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field preferred. Why This Role Massive Ownership
