Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, is seeking a highly motivated experienced civil engineer to join our collaborative and innovative aviation group at any of the following office locations: Tampa, Orlando, or Fort Myers, FL; Atlanta, GA; Charleston or Lexington, SC.
Responsibilities include:
Client/Project Manager
Leading and overseeing project teams
Managing scope development and execution
Tracking project schedule and resource management
Mentoring project staff
Collaborating with our clients and partner agencies to solve complex airport improvement challenges through communication and innovative engineering solutions
Pursing / leading opportunities and winning work through involvement in business development
Technical / Civil Engineer
Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies and permits related to airport planning and engineering design
Leading proactive client interactions and communications with regards to FAA programming, and state and government agencies
Performing QA/QC tasks
Supporting the onsite project engineer on construction projects
Other tasks as assigned.
A valid driver’s license and travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have the following:
A bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering, environmental engineering, urban policy, planning, aviation management, or related field from an accredited college or university
At least 8 years of relevant experience
PE license in the state of FL, GA, and/or SC; OR must have the ability to successfully obtain a PE license in the appropriate state of FL, GA, or SC within 9 months of hire.
The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all the following:
PE or AICP license is highly desirable
Previous business development or project management experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience leading airport design projects
Serving as the project manager on airport planning and design projects
Mentoring and leading engineering project teams
Preparing scope of work, fees, contracts, plans, specifications, CSPP, construction management plans and/or cost estimates
Performing QA/QC reviews
Serving as Project Engineer on construction projects
Performing business development activities
