Regional Engineering Manager FLSA Status:
Exempt Reports to: Vice President of Engineering Position Overview The Regional Engineering Manager oversees the engineering function at the regional level. The Regional Engineering Manager (or REM) is accountable for ensuring the engineering staff has the tools, training and support needed to meet annual contract hour goals, achieve key performance indicators, and deliver on Reserve Advisor’s CORE values. Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Management Responsibility:
(Typical Range of 4 to 10 Full-Time mix of Engineer I, II, and/or Senior Engineers) a .
Team Building & Engineering Leadership:
i. Create engagement and cohesion within the team to promote a healthy and sustainable work environment for their teams ii. Conduct regional team meetings, and ongoing one-on-one meetings to maintain clear communication with engineers to establish workflow, client pain points, and areas of improvement iii. Coordinate with other engineering leaders and other company functions to support company operations & initiatives b.
Regional Engineering Production :
i. Accountable for regional engineering team of direct reports to meet regional team contract hour goals c.
Team Contract Management :
i. Manage and assign the team’s workflow schedule of assignments based on skills, travel logistics, and client timing requirements ii. Coordinate lending of labor between regions and balancing of regional backlogs iii. Communicate with respective Regional Director and Account Manager regarding client relationships, time estimating, and business development opportunities d.
Training and Quality Assurance :
i. Mentor and oversee training of Associate Engineers; determine when individuals are ready for the next level of inspections through monitoring of milestones and experience ii. Guide team through career development discussions and create knowledge share opportunities for the team iii. Assist with attaining client feedback, and managing potential client conflicts iv. Act as the technical resource for engineering team v. Review shipment copy of Engineer’s reports based on tenure and experience. Ensure quality standards are being maintained. 2.
Production Responsibilities:
a. Demonstrated a successful reserve study process from start to finish on any type of property. i. Contact clients and schedule inspections ii. Coordinate and book travel for inspections iii. Conduct property inspections of all common assets relevant to the community iv. Serve as team-leader or project engineer on assignments with multiple engineers v. Compile data; research cost and useful life of common assets vi. Lead team review and justify decisions with supporting information and garnered knowledge vii. Write reserve study report viii. Complete report and shipment edits as directed by REM and QA ix. Remain point of contact for clients of all completed inspections b. Successfully managing client interactions c. Additional duties as may be assigned 3.
Other Responsibilities:
a. Collaborate with human resources to identify and retain new engineers, manage performance and meet employee objectives b. Project assignments as necessary and directed by leadership
Requirements:
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, or relevant management degree Reserve Specialist (RS) designation is encouraged (RS is expected once eligible to apply) Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Engineering role with Reserve Advisors, or relevant comparable management experience Participation in one of the following developmental initiatives: Leadership training course Mentorship ROCK Business Development Other qualifying initiative (must be approved by Regional Engineering Manager and VP of Engineering prior) Ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
