Online college recruiting, via the NCSA brand, providing content, tools, coaching and access to a network of 40,000 college coaches The Engineering Manager assists the Chief Engineer in maintaining all equipment, systems and building components, ensuring that the hotel property is maintained and in operating order.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain the ongoing maintenance program for the hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, hotel rooms, air handler units, ice machines, pool, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc.
Ensure prompt and effective response to maintenance requests
Work closely with Housekeeping, Guest Services and other key departments to ensure coordination of maintenance activities
Assist in the process of assigning work to technicians and ensure timely completion of repairs
Perform minor painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC functions and other related maintenance activities using hand tools.
Perform routine maintenance such as inspecting drives, motors, belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
Perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, kitchen and minor laundry equipment.
Ensure the hotel is in compliance with all relevant regulations
Maintain a safe working environment including files of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Notify the Chief Engineer concerning any major repairs or additions to phone systems, lighting, heating or ventilation equipment.
Maintain records of all rooms and equipment that has been worked on.
Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel.
Answer guest inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests and local area information.
Maintain confidentiality of guest and proprietary information, protecting company assets.
Perform any other duties as requested by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Previous experience in hotel maintenance or commercial building
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Strong knowledge of building systems, safety standards, and preventative maintenance.
Knowledge of Opera or other hotel PMS system is a plus
Basic IT abilities are a plus
Must maintain composure and objectivity while in stressful, high-pressure situations.
Must have a positive attitude and have a team mindset. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to lift, carry, move, push and pull equipment or boxes up to 60lbs
Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
Ability to work on various indoor and outdoor surfaces including grass, turf, courts, etc. in all weather
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill engineering tasks.
Must be able to climb stairs on a continuous basis.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Must be able to operate office equipment such as computers
Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
