Position Overview:

We seek a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Trading and Risk Management to join the leadership team. The successful candidate will oversee the trading operations, implement advanced risk management strategies, and drive growth across agricultural markets, particularly in Latin America and other emerging markets. This role is ideal for an individual with a proven track record in senior leadership positions, who can combine deep industry knowledge with a vision for expanding the business and managing large teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

Lead a team of senior traders, risk managers, and analysts to enhance trading strategies and ensure operational excellence across agricultural commodities.

Risk Management:

Develop and execute risk management frameworks, utilising futures, options, and OTC products to protect client portfolios and optimise trading activities.

Market Expansion:

Identify and seize market opportunities, particularly in Latin America, while strengthening relationships with key clients, including producers, traders, and corporations.

P&L Management:

You will own and manage the P&L for all trading activities, ensuring alignment with financial goals and targets.

Team Development:

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Relationship Management:

Cultivate relationships with senior executives and decision-makers at client organisations to drive business expansion and client retention.

Market Insights:

Stay ahead of market trends, regulatory changes, and global economic developments to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with compliance, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of trading strategies and alignment with organisational goals.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum of 10-15 years in commodity trading and risk management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in managing large, diverse teams and growing multi-million-dollar portfolios is essential.

Leadership:

Proven ability to lead teams, manage large portfolios, and drive strategic initiatives to grow business.

Risk Management Expertise:

Strong understanding of risk management techniques and tools, including futures, options, and hedging strategies.

Regional Expertise:

Experience in Latin American markets and understanding of regional regulatory and market dynamics.

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Skills:

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English and Spanish (Portuguese is a plus). Why Join?
