As a Manager – Controls Engineer, you will lead a dedicated team of engineers and specialists to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests and cast members. You will play a crucial role in designing control systems that ensure the safe and reliable operation of rides, entertainment, and transportation systems. Your primary focus will be on fostering the growth of your team in leadership, management, technical, and interpersonal skills. This position is a Full-Time Hybrid role based in Lake Buena Vista, FL, and will report to the Senior Manager-Ride Controls.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Oversee daily priorities to ensure effective resource allocation and task completion.

+ Conduct regular meetings with team members to provide guidance and act as a technical resource. + Collaborate on the design, enhancement, and maintenance of ride control systems to ensure safety and reliability. + Assist in writing and reviewing proposals for projects. + Track project progress to meet budget, schedule, and performance targets. + Participate in performance reviews and evaluations of team members. + Identify and facilitate training opportunities for team members and the organization. + Contribute to resource and budget project planning. + Provide technical, budgetary, and scheduling guidance to the engineering project team. + Engage daily with team members and peers across Global Engineering & Technology and maintain regular interactions with managers and directors.

  • Required Qualifications & Skills
  • + 5+ years in control systems using PLCs, embedded controls, and variable frequency drives. + Proven ability to partner effectively with teams, stakeholders, and customers. + Experience in field troubleshooting and system fault analysis for control systems. + Strong ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations while maintaining situational awareness.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • + Background in leading an engineering team within the entertainment industry. + Experience in managing complex project budgets, schedules, and technical challenges. + Proven track record of addressing complex technical control system issues.
  • Education
  • + Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. + Preferred – Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
