Your Primary Responsibilities will include
Capable to lead our talented and energetic Stormwater team, and provide day to day technical support on Stormwater modeling (ICPR4 and
EPA SWMM
) and water quality components on a variety of municipal Stormwater projects around the state of Florida. Experience in providing Stormwater design and modeling support for transportation and municipal projects, including pond siting and sizing, bridge hydraulics, and water quality Best Management Practices (BMPs).
Meeting all responsibilities as the Engineer of Record for stormwater projects including conducting the study/modeling, designing, obtaining permits, and overseeing construction administration.
Creating top-notch and precise presentations, reports, designs, specifications, and construction documents of Stormwater projects.
Collaboration and Oversight of the project design involve engineers, designers, sub-consultants, clients, as well as other consulting firms, internal disciplines, project managers, and business development teams.
Marketing and Business Development including premarketing meetings with clients, preparation of proposal to secure new business opportunities and developing scope and fee proposals and utilizing negotiation skills. Preparation of specifications, review of shop drawings, and providing construction administration assistance in the role of Engineer of Record
Traveling periodically to conduct business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation. Responsibilities also include preparing or reviewing subsequent reports and exhibits
Oversight and assistance with compiling construction plans from all disciplines, Review of documents submitted by others and implementation of project quality control and submission to agencies having jurisdiction.
Participating actively in the Florida Stormwater Association (FSA) or other applicable professional society.
What you’ll need
B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. License in the state of Florida. Ability to obtain additional state licensure through reciprocity is a plus.
15+ years of US experience in design and permitting public or private projects.
Proficiency in ICPR4 Modeling for Watershed Management Plans and Retrofit projects for primarily municipal clients or agencies. Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Thorough understanding of project process from concept through construction.
Ability to consistently exercise good independent judgement in evaluation and determination of design solutions.
Stormwater management, water distribution and sanitary sewer collection system design experience.
Effective in providing instruction, teaching and mentoring in a positive and constructive manner on a daily basis in person preferred. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
Superior social, communication, written and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
