Job Overview
The Technology Director will lead technology-focused projects, overseeing the development of plans and specifications for communication and security systems, including Division 27 (Communications) and Division 28 (Electronic Safety and Security) scopes of work. This role serves as a key liaison between clients, design teams, and engineering staff, ensuring projects meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements while aligning with the firm’s strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables for communication and security system designs.
Lead project aspects of Division 27 (e.g., structured cabling, data networks, audiovisual systems) and Division 28 (e.g., CCTV, access control, intrusion detection) scopes.
Develop and implement engineering strategies to enhance system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Coordinate with clients and design teams to gather requirements and ensure seamless integration of technology systems.
Support organizational goals by setting project objectives, improving cost-efficiency, and fostering professional development within teams.
Oversee and mentor engineering staff, managing assignments and promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Qualifications

Proven expertise in Division 27 (e.g., telecommunications, data networks) and Division 28 (e.g., surveillance, access control) project leadership.
Strong proficiency in design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, or BIM 360; familiarity with network design software is a plus.
Experience leading complex projects and managing geographically dispersed teams.
Preferred certifications:
BICSI RCDD, ASIS
PSP/CPP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent.
