A luxury oceanfront resort, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Engineer with a valid HVAC certification and a strong background in hotel engineering operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in luxury or high-traffic hospitality settings and possess expert knowledge in HVAC systems and commercial chillers.
This position is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all mechanical systems throughout the property, ensuring a seamless and comfortable environment for our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC, chiller, and mechanical systems in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
Operate, maintain, and monitor chillers, boilers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, and BMS (Building Management Systems)
Ensure all systems operate efficiently and in compliance with safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and environmental codes
Diagnose system malfunctions and implement timely, cost-effective solutions to minimize downtime
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and equipment servicing
Complete work orders and preventive maintenance schedules using internal work order systems (e.g., HotSOS, Yardi, or similar)
Support capital improvement and energy conservation projects as assigned
Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, inspections, and routine maintenance
Respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly, providing excellent internal and guest-facing service
Collaborate with other departments (Housekeeping, Front Desk, F&B) to resolve maintenance issues impacting guest satisfaction
Participate in on-call rotation and be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality setting required
EPA Universal HVAC Certification required; additional mechanical/electrical certifications a plus
Extensive hands-on experience with chillers, HVAC systems, BAS/BMS, and related controls
Strong understanding of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills
Working knowledge of OSHA and other safety codes/regulations
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in varying environmental conditions
Familiarity with CMMS or work order management software preferred
