Outcomesand Activities:

This position will work from home; occasionalplanned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office locationmay be required. However, this position is permitted to work at aSouthfield, Michigan office location if requested by the teammember Leads and mentors team members on essential agile andproduct mindset tenets including early learning, self-organizedteams, cross functionality, customer obsession, outcome focused,incremental delivery and test driven. Participates in work planningprocesses to ensure the most important work is aligned to theappropriate team, that work is broken down enough that outcomes canbe delivered incrementally. Leads and mentors cross functional teammembers on building world class products that deliver customerdelight and business value Collaborates with others to designsolutions to meet requirements for initiatives involving multipleteam applications as well as applications owned by other teams.

Through mentoring and review, takes responsibility for adherence tocode, documentation and testing standards. Develops and tracksdelivery metrics while monitoring technical health of the product,informs progress toward delivery goals, and provides supportappropriately when needed. Builds effective teams by ensuring youhave the right people and setting clear expectations Monitors andevaluates team performance and continuously coach and mentor teammembers Sets up your team for operational success by having a soundunderstanding on the system ecosystem, architecture, technologiesand system domains and how these are used to achieve businessoutcomes. Is an active participant in on-call escalation andincident management

Developssolutions using standards and best practices of the applicationslanguage. Writes code that implements the design that is testable,extensible, efficient and maintainable.

Understandthe rationale behind and how changes impact the enterprise and/orapplications and across the technical ecosystem.

Solution Design:

Ability to translate high level requirements to create andimplement designs that meet the needs of the customer, aretechnically sound, maintainable and cost effective. Ability toidentify missing or ambiguous requirements. Ability to design atboth high and low levels of abstraction, understand complexrequirements and translate into understandable solutions. Abilityto accurately estimate based on requirements.

Technical Domain:

Have an understanding of the technical domain, including theapplication architecture, design and data of the application theysupport and systems to which it interfaces.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years’experience leading engineering teams, including some experiencewith conflict resolution, setting and enforcing performanceexpectations, mentoring and career guidance Working experience intechnical leadership, capable of providing mentorship,cross-functional project execution, collaborating on and executingtechnical vision and strategy Experience with managing, coachingand providing guidance to junior developers and engineers. 5 yearsof relevant senior level engineering experience Some experienceworking with Agile and DevOps practices such as test driven,incremental releases, continuous integration, and deploymentpipeline automation. Experience in microservices design strategiesand implementation including migration planning, servicegranularity, interservice communication, traceability,orchestration, and failure isolation Experience with Cloudmigrations and working in a mixed on-prem / cloud environment(container orchestration, security, serverless)

PreferredExperience:

2 years’ experience of leading initiatives in a Javaecosystem Track record of identifying opportunities to improveoutcomes via new tools and approaches, evaluating and measuringcandidate solutions, and successfully advocating for their adoptionExperience applying appropriate levels of transactional and racecondition-resilient approaches, including database locking,distributed transactions (XA), SAGA pattern Ability to describe anddesign decoupled system transaction models that are resilient toupstream and downstream outages with appropriate recovery modelsExperience implementing and operationalizing rules engines

Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to communicate complex technicalinformation (both verbal and written) to all levels, includingsenior leadership Ability to solve problems at the source byoffering simple, working solutions Responds promptly andeffectively to resolve incidents, tasks, and projects Demonstratedability and motivation to teach others Ability to gain trust ofothers and builds solid relationships across and verticallythroughout the organization Effectively prioritize and executetasks in a high-pressure environment

Target Compensation:

Acompetitive base salary range from $128,382 – $188,294. Thisposition is eligible for an annual variable bonus of cash andequity, between 10%-20%.
