Role Overview:
The Associate Regional Engineering Manager supports the Regional Engineering Manager in providing guidance to Technical Services teams, helping ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of building systems. This role assists in maintaining professionalism, supporting client needs, and contributing to high uptime. Responsibilities include assisting with asset protection and improvement, supporting reliability-based maintenance, participating in inspection programs, aiding in the implementation of maintenance best practices, and contributing to performance optimization efforts. The role also involves providing technical assistance, assisting with mentorship, and participating in training for site operations teams, as well as supporting Technical Services and Sustainability Operations programs. This position requires a minimum of 50% on-site work and up to 50% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Operations Support:
Assist in developing and implementing consistent maintenance practices, KPIs, and improvement plans. Support strategic sourcing efforts in contract negotiations as directed. Participate in collaboration with technical services and external parties for root cause analysis and problem resolution. Assist in researching and implementing cost reduction programs. Support efforts to improve energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Help ensure regulatory compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards; assist with incident reporting. Support the management of the Water System Safety Management Program escalation and remediation. Assist site teams with engineering checklists and hard services matrices. Help track preventative maintenance work orders.
Technical Services & Sustainability Program Support:
Serve as a supporting point of contact for Technical Services initiatives. Assist in providing guidance and support for strategic initiative rollouts. Help address site team inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed. Assist as a technical resource for programs like JCAP and PM Quality Audit Program. Support the Sites Emergency Response Program. Assist in the improvement of global compliance playbooks. Participate in MEP Project Design Reviews as requested. Support site teams with Refrigerant Management and Tracking (Trakref). Help promote the Energy Conservation Measure (ECM) Dashboard and assist with implementation.
Required Skills:
Technical Aptitude:
Familiarity with commercial/critical facilities systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety, BMS).
Root Cause Analysis:
Basic understanding of root cause analysis methods, such as the 5 Whys.
