Job Description:

We’re looking for a skilled Engineering Manager who’ll lead a team of highly skilled engineers responsible for supporting the technical needs of power generation facilities. This role involves the day-to-day management of engineering staff to ensure optimal plant performance, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability. The position provides leadership, mentoring, and supervision to engineers and technicians engaged in preventive and predictive maintenance, as well as the planning and execution of capital projects. The incumbent is also accountable for delivering consistent technical support across the fleet, supporting special projects, driving initiatives to enhance fleet reliability, collaborating with electric reliability organizations, and coordinating with transmission owners/operators to fulfill technical data requests.

Job Duties:

Lead technical staff supporting plant operations. Oversee engineering solutions from scoping to business case development. Promote innovation and skill growth. Ensure compliance with NERC standards, including technical evaluations, procedure development, data requests, and coordination with TO/TOP. Develop and review fleet maintenance practices, procedures, and processes. Manage electrical testing, maintenance, overhauls, and construction at plants and repair facilities. Serve as the subject matter expert in electrical power engineering and maintenance strategies. Set goals and policies for the Electrical Engineering group; monitor and improve effectiveness. Review drawings, specs, and technical documents for projects in development or construction. Conduct studies and prepare materials such as presentations and white papers.

Required Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preferably in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Strong technical and business understanding of power plant operations, performance, and economics.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years in power generation, including at least 5 years focused on preventive and predictive maintenance within a commercial electric power generating facility. Experience should include planning, budgeting, maintenance execution, and data analysis. At least 5 years of performance management experience, including direct supervision of staff.

Specialized Skills:

Strong organizational and time management abilities; capable of working independently. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in business and technical analysis, with strong computer skills. Comfortable working closely with Plant Managers and senior plant leadership.
