Job Description

Vice President, Data Engineering
Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks to fill the position of Vice President, Data Engineering in Alpharetta, GA.
Research, develop, document, communicate, and drive implementation of standards on the storage, movement, and management of data across the enterprise. Deliver Fraud Operation data engineering and machine learning projects while coordinating with teams both onshore and offshore. Architect, design, and develop reusable frameworks, and deploy them into cloud solutions. Work on proof-of-concepts to adapt new technologies and cloud services. Design, build, and implement databases, Exact, transform, and load (ETL) jobs, and Master data management (MDM) solutions. Promote and leverage enterprise functions such as infrastructure, production support, and analytics. Act as the subject-matter expertise for data management and modeling challengers. Create and review data utilized in system interfaces. Evaluate and implement tools and strategies for databases, ETL, MDM, and reporting and analytics.

Salary:

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $208000 and $208000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Requirements:

Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation in the technology field. The employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation in the technology field in lieu of a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience. Requires three (3) years of experience with: Oracle; Sybase SQL Server; IBM Infosphere DataStage; Snowflake; Data Architecture; AWS Data Analytics and Data Science; system design; Dell ECS; Heterogeneous Replication support; Patching; Performance Tuning; Real-time transaction processing; Windows and Linux; Cloud technology including SQL Azure (IAAS and PAAS) and AWS EC2; PowerShell scripting; Bitbucket; Parquet; Scala; Continuous Integration (CI/CD) tools; Tableau; Apache Impala; Apache Hive; Cloudera; Spark; Machine Learning; and Databricks.
