POSITION PURPOSE

Support the Veolia CapitalProgram Management Team in New Orleans, LA by developing,implementing and managing plant upgrade projects and collectionssystem projects. Projects include Phased Plant Upgrades to Primary,Secondary, Aeration treatment, Disinfection, Rehabilitation, SolidsProcessing Upgrades, collection system upgrades and various otherfast paced projects. Projects can include design/build or otheralternative delivery procurement. The CPM Project Manager willprovide overall administrative and technical direction, enforcecompany and project policies, serve as main client interface, andensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budgetand schedule. The CPM Project Manager will also conduct workrequiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation andmodification of standard construction techniques The CPM ProjectManager will lead the CPM team to oversee the development,implementation and management of capital projects including waterand wastewater improvements. The position will manage allstakeholders including contractors, engineers and others involvedin the development and execution of capital projects. The positionoften requires the performance of preliminary engineering, costestimating and forecasting. It includes the management of outsideengineering consultants for final detailed engineering, procurementof equipment, and the management of construction contractors forthe construction phase. It requires project safety oversight,change order negotiation, contract negotiation and clientinterface. It would require construction inspection, fieldoversight, project administration, daily reports and accountingservices management. This position requires interaction with theVeolia plant operation teams for design review, tie-in/cutovercoordination and startup and commissioning; and interaction withthe Veolia Operations team and City of New Orleans, LA forcoordinating construction work on wastewater treatment systemprojects. Other duties include project oversight on other CPMprojects across North America and other current and future projectson an as needed basis. The CPM Project Manager will also supportother Veolia Water’s operating project sites as needed bydeveloping, implementing and managing capital projects as needed.

Projects can include design/build of a new facility that VeoliaWater North America (VWNA) will operate, or design/build ofadditions, improvements or upgrades to existing facilities thatVWNA operates.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

: Organizes anddirects all construction-related activities on a constructionproject to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design,budget and schedule; meets accounting requirements; and iscompleted to quality standards Plans, coordinates and superviseactivities of all company and contracted personnel on assignedprojects Authorize/approve all selecting, hiring, and overseeingthe work done by the contractors, purchase requisitions, changerequests, etc. Monitor budgets, schedules, cost reports and jobprogress and review with team members on a weekly basis Acts asprimary client contact for all project-field activities Maintainsofficial project log and documentation files Assists withimplementation/interpretation of safety programs Oversee projectenvironmental regulation compliance Perform additional assignments,per supervisors direction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK

ENVIRONMENTVaries greatly depending on the work being done and the projectbeing supported at any given time: Work environments include officelocations, operating project sites, and construction sites.

Depending on the project needs, travel is often required on anintermittent basis and may sometimes require an extended basis.

Valid Driver’s license and safe driving record required.

Qualifications Education / Experience / Background A Bachelor’sDegree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalentproject-related work experience. Professional Engineer highlypreferred but not required. 7-10 years of experience in engineeringdesign and construction of water and wastewater treatment systems;project management; cost estimating; business development andconstruction management. Experience in water/wastewater-relatedprojects is highly desirable. Compensation commensurate withexperience.

Knowledge / Skills

/ Abilities Must be a good teamplayer and work collaboratively with different stakeholders andVeolia team members In-depth knowledge and experience with allaspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); companypolicies, procedures and standards. Excellent communication,organizational, supervisory and planning skills requiredPreliminary engineering to develop project cost estimates.
