is seeking an Engineering Director to join our Boston office and lead the gameplay systems of Cyberpunk 2.In this role, you will collaborate with your team to push the boundaries of our next immersive game in the Cyberpunk universe, crafting an emotional, open-world experience that will leave a lasting impression on gamers.

As an Engineering Director, you will combine your leadership abilities with your technical expertise to shape the future of gameplay systems, drive innovation, and deliver unforgettable gaming experiences.

Daily Responsibilities Establish and oversee the architecture and technical strategy for gameplay features and systems. Lead and mentor a team of engineering managers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Develop strategic plans for the gameplay teams, including resource allocation, project timelines, and technology roadmaps. Collaborate with art, animation, design, and engineering teams to align gameplay features with the creative vision. Set standards for high-quality, efficient C++ code, emphasizing optimization, readability, and maintainability. Ensure thorough documentation to facilitate onboarding and cross-department collaboration. Proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure character systems contribute to a polished, high-performance product. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in gameplay technology, bringing innovative ideas to the team. Qualifications At least 10 years of professional experience, including 5+ years in the games industry. Experience in creating AAA titles for consoles, including debugging and profiling in a console environment. Proven leadership in managing teams. Good knowledge of Unreal Engine 5, especially features related to gameplay. Practical experience with gameplay features and systems implementation. Experience with Abilities Systems, NPCs, and crowds. Knowledge of removing gameplay systems from the Main Thread. Understanding of modern game architecture and deep C++ knowledge. Strong math and algorithmic skills. Practical knowledge of code parallelization. Experience in Agile development is a plus. Results-oriented with a collaborative, adaptable mindset. Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders in a multilingual environment. Additional Information This position is based in Boston, US, with options for in-office, hybrid, or full-time remote work.
