is looking for an Engineering Director to join our office in Boston and drive the gameplay systems of Cyberpunk 2. In this position, you will help push the envelope for the next immersive game in the Cyberpunk universe, creating an emotional, open-world experience that will stay with gamers. As an Engineering Director, you’ll combine leadership skills with deep technical expertise to shape the future of our gameplay systems, driving innovation and delivering unforgettable gaming experiences. Daily Responsibilities Establish and oversee the architecture and technical strategy for gameplay features and systems. Lead and mentor a team of engineering managers and engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation. Develop strategic plans for the gameplay teams, including resource allocation, project timelines, and technology roadmaps. Collaborate with art, animation, design, and engineering teams to align gameplay features & systems with the creative vision. Drive standards for clean, high-quality, and efficient C+ code, ensuring best practices in optimization, readability, and maintainability. Ensure thorough documentation for in-code and broader knowledge sharing, enabling smooth onboarding and collaboration. Proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure character systems contribute to a polished, performant product. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in gameplay technology, bringing innovative ideas to the team. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in the games industry. Experience in creating AAA titles for game consoles, including debugging and profiling in a console environment. Proven track record in managing teams. Good knowledge of Unreal Engine 5, especially features related to gameplay. Practical knowledge of gameplay features & systems implementation. Experience with Abilities Systems, NPCs, and crowds. Experience in removing gameplay systems from the Main Thread. Knowledge of modern game architecture. Deep knowledge of C+. Strong math and algorithmic skills. Practical knowledge of code parallelization. Experience with Agile development is a plus. Results-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, and a team player. Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders in a multilingual environment.
