Engineering Manager Midwest Metalcraft Windsor, MO 65360

Position Description:

Manages, plans, organizes and coordinates the activities of assigned engineering group. Fosters the development of new manufacturing technologies, process / continuous improvement initiatives, new product ideas/concepts/designs, test & validation and cost reduction programs for new and existing food/product programs.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Supports and guides product engineering teams in ongoing development within their assigned area 2. Supervises and coordinates product research, testing, design and development if applicable 3. Promotes the New Product Development process and ensures consistent use 4. Interfaces with customers regarding part and product design, manufacturing and quality control issues, which fosters relationships 5. Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements 6. Reports regularly on project status 7. Develops and initiates new technologies, process improvement initiatives and cost reduction programs 8. Proposes business solutions related to product safety initiatives, annual strategic/situational planning, long-term planning and supplier relationship agreements 9. Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management, department budget 10. Performs other duties as assigned 11. Perform the final design review of all projects completed within the department and set up a pre-release meeting.

Job Skill Requirements:

• Demonstrates knowledge of engineering, testing and manufacturing processes related to food processing equipment/products and/or manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of the Engineer Computer program, SolidWorks
• Ability to effectively solve problems with diverse groups of people
• Strong interpersonal, written communication and problem-solving skills to effectively interface with engineers, managers and customers
• Well-developed leadership and planning skills as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Fundamental knowledge of statistics and reliability concepts
• Strong team building skills
• Ability to develop and coordinate daily activities of others and to focus on major project resources to ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time, and on budget
• Fluent in

English Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements:

• Seven years of engineering experience
• Prior management or supervisory experience Certifications Preferred Physical & Environmental Requirements This is an on-site position in Windsor, MO Domestic travel is required up to 10%
