This position plays a critical role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, lean thinking, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the site. Key Responsibilities Continuous Improvement Leadership Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies across all plant functions. Lead Value Stream Mapping, root cause analysis, and waste elimination efforts. Track key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct data analysis, and ensure sustainable improvements in productivity, quality, and safety. Coach and mentor employees at all levels on CI tools and practices. Facilitate Continuous Improvement (CI) events and workshops aligned with plant goals. Engineering and Technical Oversight Provide direction and support for all plant engineering functions including process design, equipment upgrades, and automation opportunities. Ensure compliance with EHS regulations, internal quality standards, and customer requirements. Partner with Maintenance, Quality, and Operations to improve process capability and equipment reliability. Lead capital projects, equipment justification, and implementation from concept through commissioning. Collaborate with corporate engineering and CI resources to implement best practices. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Lead a small team, fostering development and accountability. Collaborate with plant leadership to develop and execute the annual strategic plan. Support production planning and new product launches through cross-functional coordination. Drive standardization and documentation of processes, work instructions, and training. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field required. Minimum 5 years of engineering or manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or CI-focused role. Strong understanding of the APQP process and core tools (specifically skilled in the PFMEA process) Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred (Green Belt or Black Belt). Automotive or Tier 1 supplier experience a plus. Skills & Competencies Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and implement sustainable improvements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD software, and ERP systems (Oracle/SAP preferred). Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills. Hands-on, collaborative approach suitable for a smaller plant environment. Working Conditions Office and manufacturing plant environment. Must be able to occasionally work flexible hours to support production needs.
