Full Job Description We are a utility-scale solar development company with projects throughout the United States, and are seeking a Senior Vice President of Engineering, Procurement & Construction who thrives in a team-oriented culture and shares our mission to create a future with more renewable energy. This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Senior Vice President of Engineering, Procurement & Construction to oversee all aspects of our Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) team. This role will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high standards, while also driving business growth and managing key relationships, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and driving the company’s strategic objectives. will lead a team of professionals and collaborate closely with all departments of the company to ensure the success of our projects. Our headquarters are in St. Louis, and we have an additional office in Los Angeles. The ability to work from our STL or LA office is a plus factor, but remote-work candidates are also welcomed.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the company’s execution plan, aligning with the company’s overall business objectives.
Project Management:
Oversee the management and delivery of projects, ensuring efficient and effective management of all stages, from engineering and procurement to construction and commissioning.
Operational Excellence:
Manage and optimize all EPC processes, including project management, engineering, procurement, and construction, to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Team Leadership:
Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, project managers, and construction professionals.
Financial Performance:
Manage project budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure projects meet financial targets.
Vendor Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with EPC vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Risk Management/Compliance:
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and compliance requirements, ensuring the successful completion of projects.
Required Skills and Experience:
Leadership and Management:
Proven ability to lead and manage large teams, set strategic direction, and motivate employees.
Technical Expertise:
Deep understanding of solar EPC processes, including engineering, procurement, and construction.
Project Management:
Extensive experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Financial Acumen:
Strong understanding of project budgeting, financial reporting, and cost management.
Negotiation and Contract Management:
Experience in negotiating contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
Ability to analyze complex situations, identify solutions, and make sound decisions.
Industry Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge of the solar industry, including market trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, construction management, or business administration.
Experience:
10+ years of experience in the solar EPC industry, with a proven track record of success in leading and managing large projects.
Certifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certifications are a plus.
