Job Description This position is responsible for setting and coordinating policies and managing functions necessary for the successful execution of all Naval Architecture activities for design and construction of US Naval and US Coast Guard vessels under contract. Areas of responsibility include all technical and design activities in support of ship construction programs, including hydrostatics, intact and damaged stability, structural design and analysis, foundation design and analysis, lofting and structural manufacturing aids, outfitting and furnishing design and technical, heavy lift design and analysis, translation, launch, incline experiments, corrosion control, survivability and human factors engineering. The position is also responsible for executing manning and budget plans within their respective area of responsibility. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering and 8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering, and design or equivalent. A Master’s of Science degree in Engineering and professional registration with 6 years of relevant experience.
