  • Operations Your role and responsibilities ABB is seeking an established leader to join our Pinetops, NC operation as the Plant General Manager (Manufacturing Unit Manager).

In this role, one would manage all aspects related to operations in Pinetops Manufacturing Unit, including the full scope of Production, Engineering, Procurement & Logistics, Quality, Operational Excellence, and Planning & Logistics. This role will require working onsite (#LI-Onsite) in the Pinetops, NC facility. You will mainly be accountable for:

  • Implementing the Business Line and Division manufacturing strategy within their own area of responsibility.
  • Developing proactive strategies to increase business profits, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensuring achievement of established targets by overseeing progress and defining improvement actions as needed.
  • Focusing on achievement of operating cash flow, project on-time and on-cost, Acknowledged On-Time Delivery (AOTD), and cost reduction.
  • Driving quality improvement through target setting, monitoring, and benchmarking to continuously improve processes.
  • Effectively managing the implementation of CapEx investments, supporting factory expansion and cultural transformation.

Qualifications for the role Bachelor’s Degree (required) in relevant field, Master’s Degree (preferred)
15+ years of experience in Manufacturing
Ability to communicate complex concepts via presentations for senior level audiences
Change Management experience
Proven experience in developing teams
Sound business acumen
Ideal candidates will bring in a background in budget + performance management, strategy + strategy implementation, end-to-end operations management, and engineering + manufacturing processes.
Electrical industry experience strongly preferred
Lean Six Sigma certifications preferred
