Job DescriptionJob PurposeThe Systems Integration Section Chiefis responsible for managing a hardware-in-the-loop integrationtesting laboratory. The laboratory contains aircraft avionics,electrical systems, aircraft actuation hardware, real-timesimulation, test electrical systems and associated components. TheSection Chief oversees the design, construction, maintenance, andday-to-day operation of the facility. The laboratory is used forR D, developmental testing, certification testing, productiontesting and customer service support. The Section Chief isresponsible for the program management tasks in the lab environmentincluding schedule development, schedule management, budgetdevelopment, budget management and integration with the interfacingsystems engineering disciplines for planning lab configuration andtesting. Key Accountabilities Leads a team to design, build, maintain and lead the dailyoperation of advanced integration test facilities, for thedevelopment of integrated complex aircraft systems. Works closely with program management and all aircraftengineering and flight test teams to support the lab’s build andtesting schedules. Develops, coordinates and manages engineering integrationprogram/project schedules and certification activities. Interfaces with Engineering, Program Management Office,Facilities, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, HR, Customer Service, andother organizations as necessary to ensure laboratory availabilityis maintained and projects are completed according to programrequirements and schedule. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships withcustomers, stakeholders, peers, and partners. Develops resource load plans and executes hiring to maintainand grow team to accomplish both short and long term goals. Plan and manage multi-year budgets, planning and purchasing tomaintain and upgrade lab to support newest programs andtechnologies. Interfaces with suppliers as needed to support projects. Reviews engineering documents including drawings, test plans,test reports, etc. Provides engineering process leadership, especially in theareas of V&V of safety critical systems. Provides project updates and reporting to management and/orProgram Leadership as requires. Qualifications, Experience, andSkills Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree from an accreditedcollege or university in engineering, mathematics, physics, orrelated. 10+ years of experience within aviation or aerospace industryor closely related industry is required. 5+ years of experience in electrical/systems/softwaredevelopment including V&V. 3+ years of experience building and leading technical teamssolving complex problems. Familiarity with hands-on troubleshooting across electrical,software, and mechanical domains. Experience applying Systems Engineering principals in theAerospace industry.

Experience managing test laboratory. Experiencemanaging system test integration laboratory preferred.

Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of aerospace engineering processes,certification requirements, and familiarity with flight testoperations. Working knowledge of FAR Part 23/25. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project software. Experience with FAA certification and knowledge of DO-178 andARP4754 standards. Experience with automated testing and model-based design. Familiarity with SW version control and problem tracking tools(GIT/JIRA or similar) is desired. Experience with engineering process tools for RequirementManagement, Configuration Control and Version Control (DOORS,Confluence, Bitbucket, Teamcenter) desired. Knowledge of CAD (CATIA) and PLM Systems (TeamCenter)desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required. Excellent communication skills and a self-starter that takesinitiative without supervision. Able to effectively communicate and present to Senior Programand Engineering Leadership.

Working Conditions Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operationalnoise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuelodors. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend,climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periodswith no restrictions, as required by job duties. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to allregulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federalregulations, etc.). Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required byjob duties. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safetyinstructions with no restrictions. Effectively communicate in Business English language. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughoutthe work shift without assistance, as required by job duties. Pull, push, carry, lift or movematerials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or moreduring the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reachassistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts,pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, peoplemovers etc.), as required by job duties.
