Job Description

Engineering Manager Accentuate Staffing Clayton, NC 27520 Accentuate Staffing has partnered with a well-established manufacturer serving a global client base in the commercial furniture space. Known for its commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency, this company leverages lean manufacturing practices to support a high mix, low volume production environment. This role is a strategic leadership opportunity that will directly impact manufacturing excellence, cost control, and long-term growth. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in manufacturing engineering, operations leadership, and cross-functional team management. This individual will be responsible for driving continuous improvement efforts, overseeing maintenance and process engineering, supporting product launches, and ensuring alignment between engineering, design, quality, and production teams. Strong technical knowledge, lean implementation skills, and a collaborative leadership approach are key to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Lead cross-functional engineering, maintenance, and process improvement teams to implement cost reduction initiatives and support plant-wide lean manufacturing strategies Oversee safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external certifications such as ISO 9001 and

ISO 14000

Manage the maintenance team and ensure preventive maintenance programs are in place for optimal equipment performance Support new product introductions by coordinating with design and product development teams to optimize manufacturability, BOMs, and production processes Evaluate and improve existing manufacturing methods, technologies, and workflows, while managing engineering change processes across departments Develop departmental staffing plans, manage training programs, and foster employee development in collaboration with

HR Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; P.Eng or eligibility preferred Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role Proven background in lean manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering process improvement Experience with durable goods or component-based manufacturing; familiarity with powder coating, wood finishing, welding, and automation Proficiency in engineering tools including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and methodologies such as PFMEA, GD&T, APQP, and PPAP Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple facilities
