Closing Date 06/30/2025 General Definition of Work The senior manager of construction engineering, under intermittent supervision, performs highly complex work with intermediate decision-making discretion designing, developing, and supervising construction related to operation and maintenance management, new construction, renovations, replacements, and upgrades. Position ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance. Employee performs district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the assigned executive director. Essential Functions Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned programs/staff in the district
Develop and implement policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility
Responsible for the overall operations, maintenance, and upkeep of roofing, painting, carpentry, and pest management
Develop and manage multiple large-scale and small-scale construction projects simultaneously using project management best practices
Manage and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for assigned areas
Respond to operational emergencies related to roofing, painting, carpentry and pest control operations; trouble shoot issues to determine causes and solutions
Recommend and prioritize renovation and replacement projects for assigned areas
Monitor and report progress on the ongoing projects and repair/maintenance activities
Participate in the design selection process for new construction and renovation projects
Research and investigate warranty-related concerns
Review and approve design and specifications for assigned areas for new construction and renovation projects
Review and recommend changes to the existing CMS A/E guidelines and specifications
Respond to requests for data/information
Prepare reports, memos, presentations, and other correspondence
Attend professional development and other meetings
Facilitate and coordinate professional development and meetings
Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations
Perform related work as assigned or required
