The Utilities Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing all engineering functions related to utility planning and design. This role ensures compliance with local and state regulations while managing projects to enhance the efficiency and reliability of utility services. Key Responsibilities Lead the utility planning and design engineering efforts for projects involving water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff to achieve project objectives.
Ensure all utility projects comply with NCDEQ regulations and city codes.
Develop and implement strategic plans for utility infrastructure improvements.
Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to facilitate project execution.
Utilize CADD and GIS technologies for efficient project design and documentation.
Oversee project management activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments of utility systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in utility engineering or related disciplines.
Strong knowledge of utility planning, design, and compliance regulations.
Experience with NCDEQ regulations, water and wastewater systems, and city codes preferred.
Proficient in CADD and GIS software.
