Directs Mechanical Department activities and demonstrates expertise in a variety of Mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered a specialist. Responsibilities Oversees mechanical and plumbing operations nationally, managing engineers, interns, designers, drafters, and administrative staff. Manages workload distribution and ensures detailed tracking of all Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection projects. Leads mechanical design for healthcare, medical office buildings, commercial, municipal, federal, and state facilities. Acts as Engineer of Record on select projects. Serves as a technical resource for system/equipment design, energy analysis (Life Cycle Cost, LEED, Energy Star), and coordination across disciplines. Conducts employee performance reviews, builds development plans, and mentors staff. Leads project teams and provides QA/QC oversight. Schedules quarterly visits to offices with direct reports and semi-annual visits to others. Supports firm-wide BD efforts and assists in fee proposal development. Well-versed in ASHRAE (90.1, 181.1, 170, 62.1), NFPA 90A, and International Building Codes. Maintains a professional appearance, workspace, and presents as a role model within the company.
