As a Project Lead Engineer, you’ll join our Grid & Power Quality Solutions team, working on transformative projects that enhance power system stability and efficiency. From high-voltage direct current systems to advanced FACTS technologies, your work will help deliver cleaner, more reliable energy to communities across North America. This is a hybrid role based in Raleigh, NC, requiring on-site presence of two to five days per week. How you’ll make an impact Lead all engineering activities across the full project lifecycle Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners Serve as the primary technical contact for stakeholders Drive innovation and cost-effective solutions in proposals Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contract standards Support commissioning and construction phases Evaluate risks and implement mitigation strategies Promote continuous improvement and process optimization Your background Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field 7+ years of relevant project engineering experience Strong knowledge of NEC, ANSI/IEEE, and high-voltage substations Familiarity with FACTS technologies (STATCOM, SVC, Series Capacitor) Experience in EPC project environments Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States More about us We pride ourselves on offering a holistic range of competitive benefits to support your financial, physical and mental wellbeing and personal development.
