What You’ll Do ECS Limited is seeking an experienced Geotechnical DepartmentManager to lead our geotechnical engineering team in our Baltimoreoffice. In this critical role, you will manage projects and staff,oversee quality control and technical standards, contribute tobusiness development, and help drive overall department success.
Responsibilities:
Manage the full lifecycle of geotechnicalengineering projects. Lead a team of geotechnical engineers,geologists, project managers, and technicians. Ensure projectsadhere to geotechnical engineering best practices, safetystandards, and quality control procedures. Perform technical reviewof proposals, reports, and calculations. Track department budget,revenue, forecasts, and financial performance. Set goals for thegeotechnical group and develop staff skills through traininginitiatives. Assist senior staff with business development effortsthrough community involvement and client engagement. Promotecompany values, positive culture, and high employee engagement.
What We’re Looking For Required Experience & Skills:
10+ years of experience incivil/geotechnical engineering. Demonstrated leadership,communication, and relationship-building skills. Extensivetechnical knowledge of geotechnical engineering concepts andapplications. Proven track record of managing budgets, forecasts,and P&L responsibilities. Business development experienceengaging clients and winning projects. Knowledge of geotechnicalconditions and construction industry.
Required Education &Certifications:
BS in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineeringfrom an ABET accredited college/university.
Preferred Education &Certifications:
MS in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasispreferred. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ProfessionalGeologist (PG) preferred; If unlicensed, ability to obtainlicensure within three months of hire required.
