Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Will lead the manufacturing engineering team of Process Engineers, Mfg. Engineers, and Technicians to support high volume printed circuit assembly lines including high speed, hi-volume automated lines, low volume high mix SMT lines, as well as systems assembly cells. Prioritize projects, ensure timely completion of projects, effective utilization of capital and overall continuous improvement. Will develop, implement, and audit methods and manufacturing processes to reduce product cost, increase productivity and capacity, and improve quality.

Nature of Duties:

Leads a team of Process Engineers to implement and maintain robust process controls in alignment with industry best practice
Leads a team of customer facing Mfg. Engineers who define and implement the manufacturing and test processes required for consistent and repeatable manufacturing of PCBA and HLA (Higher level Assembly) / Systems products.
Evaluates and solves production problems related to mechanized equipment, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
Responsible for design and layout of high and low volume production lines for optimization and determines project budget and ROI of capital equipment
Monitor process performance and enhance through continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop SPC plan and implement Statistical Process Control of critical process characteristics.
Champion Design of Experiments and use DOEs to optimize process parameters
Implement OEE metrics where feasible and strive to improve OEE results
Perform Measurement Systems Analysis in support of Lean Six Sigma DMAIC requirements
Responsible for developing maintenance procedures for equipment and ensuring preventive maintenance is executed per defined schedules so that production equipment continues to operate with low down time. Maintains spare parts lists and inventories.
Develops implements and maintains methods, operation sequences and processes in the manufacturing or fabrication of sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
Evaluates customer equipment and process technologies.
Works with Production team members to produce the highest quality product
In depth knowledge and experience of Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA)
Interfaces with Design Engineering (customers) in coordinating the release of new products.
Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
Work to improve the productivity and quality of PCBA and Mechanical Assembly builds
Prepare DFM for customers, prepare formal DFM reports and communicate the design discrepancies to Creation’s customers.
Troubleshoot process defects and drive toward problem resolution.
Attend quality meetings and drive quality improvement activities to improve yields and reduce DPMO.
Design manufacturing processes and develop MPI (manufacturing process instructions).
Participate in ongoing and new tooling, materials, or equipment qualification. Make recommendations based on findings and drive the implementation effort.
Participate in ongoing and new process improvement projects (could be cost, time, and/or quality driven). Make recommendations based off findings and drive implementation efforts.
Establish operating equipment specifications, improve manufacturing techniques and introduce new process equipment into production.
Interface with product design and development to ensure that processes and designs are compatible and support the DFT (Test) philosophy.
Support Lean Six Sigma initiatives and projects

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Discipline
Demonstrated leadership and management skills
Must have a minimum 10 years experience; preferably in Electronics Manufacturing Services Industry
Strong technical knowledge on SMT technologies and process development
Experience in thermal profiling pf PCBAs for SMT reflow ovens and wave solder
Experience on quoting estimation for NRE’s, process capability, capacity and technical knowledge
In depth knowledge and experience of Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
In depth knowledge and experience with Design of Experiments and Statistical Process Control
Solid understanding of

ISO 9001

2015
Experience with

FMEA, DFM, FBA, NPI

Experience with LSS and Project Management
Knowledge of Quality Standards (ISO, AS, TL)
Experience with ITAR preferred
The ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.
