Join our team as a Professional Licensing Associate
The Professional Licensing Associate, based in the New York office, is responsible for managing amateur licensing in key foreign territories overseen by Music Theatre International, including Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and U.S. territories (Amateur licensing in Europe and Australasia is handled separately by MTI Europe and MTI Austalasia respectively). The accounts primarily consist of international schools,munity theatres, and similar amateuranizations. Working closely with the Vice President of Professional Licensing and Vice President of MTI Asia, this role also supports maintenance of thepany’s internal foreign-language translation database and contributes to departmental reporting and special projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

International Amateur Licensing
Negotiating royalties and rental agreements directly with international amateuranizations in territories not covered by our subagents, working closely with the Vice President of Professional Licensing and the Vice President of MTI Asia.
Preparing and issuing contracts for amateur and small professional productions.
Entering and tracking royalty data for licensed productions, with support from the Licensing Coordinator.
Working, as needed, with our Legal department to pursue unlicensed productions and resolve violations of licensing agreements.
Assisting with invoicing for international professional licenses.
Database & ing Support
ing maintain and update our internal foreign-language translation database in coordination with the Vice President of Professional Licensing and the Vice President of MTI Asia, including assisting with the evaluation of some foreign-language translations directly.
Support the preparation of departmental data reports, including quarterly reports for key authors and rightsholders, as well as other miscellaneous reports as needed.
Interdepartmental Collaboration & Special Projects
Collaborating with Marketing and other departments on professional licensing initiatives, including new title rollouts and promotional efforts for MTI’s catalogue.
Participate in broader department projects and initiatives as assigned.
Participate in the internal process of evaluating new musicals for licensing potential.
Occasionally representing Music Theatre International at professional conferences and events.
Assisting with additional administrative tasks as needed.

Willingness to learn about new markets and aspects of the industry
Proficiency in a second language is a plus for this position

Salary Range:

$52,000-$60,000
