- Group 2. The successful candidate will oversee and evaluate the work of 3
- 4 Engineers-In-Charge and their teams (comprising roughly 18 engineers and technicians); resolve issues promptly during the project construction phase; and guarantee project completion within the set timeframe, budget constraints, and IFA rate limits.
The ideal candidate will formulate standard construction terminology; update and maintain standard specifications for roadway, sewer, and water main construction; and keep standard drawings current. Moreover, the Deputy Director will act as the representative of the Design Unit in meetings with utility companies, and city, state, and federal agencies; oversee the consultant design process and train staff in executing the Design Unit’s responsibilities; participate in the recruitment efforts of the agency; and support the Assistant Commissioner and Director with the Design group’s objectives as required. Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. - 1001A Minimum Qualifications 1.
A valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer. 2. Six (6) years of full-time satisfactory experience in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or plan examining work, at least two (2) years of which must have been in an executive, managerial, or administrative capacity. Preferred Skills Please note the following preferred skills for this position:1.Must have robust supervision experience.2.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills3.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD4.Knowledge relevant to infrastructure work (i.e., roadway, sewer, and/or water main)5.Familiarity with
