Are you a visionary design leader with a passion for transforming retail spaces? We’re seeking a Senior Store Design Manager to lead innovative, large-scale store design initiatives across new builds, remodels, and strategic brand experiences.
This hybrid role, based in the Pittsburgh metro area, offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team and directly influence the physical retail experience at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Design Innovation & Leadership
Drive the creative development of large-scale store design projects, from concept to implementation.
Present compelling 3D and 2D concepts to senior leaders, clearly communicating vision and strategy.
Develop scalable, impactful design solutions that align with brand identity and customer needs.
Establish and evolve design standards, best practices, and guidelines across the retail network.
Represent the organization at design and industry events as a brand design ambassador.
Strategic Planning & Execution
Translate business goals and customer insights into actionable design strategies.
Lead end-to-end project management for store designs, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery within budget.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Operations, and Marketing to align store design with broader business strategy.
Partner with external vendors and firms to bring fresh thinking and design innovation.
Identify cost savings opportunities that maintain experience quality.
Team Leadership & Development
Inspire and mentor a talented team of store designers, fostering creativity and career growth.
Provide clear direction, continuous feedback, and individual development plans (IDPs).
Build a collaborative, inclusive team culture that supports high performance and innovation.
Oversee library management for design tools, drawings, and prototyping resources.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design (or equivalent experience)
7-10 years of experience in retail architecture, interior, or store design
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with V-Ray and Enscape is a plus
Strong presentation skills, including presenting to executive leadership
Proven ability to lead multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Deep understanding of spatial design, merchandising principles, and material innovation
Team leadership experience and a collaborative mindset
